New access procedures for the Dossena Mines starting May 1st, 2026
The Municipality of Dossena informs that, on April 24, 2026, a new municipal ordinance was released regarding the regulation of transit on the Colle–Paglio municipal road, the main access route to the Dossena Mines and the “Becco” viewpoint.
The provision will come into effect starting May 1st, 2026, and introduces a transit fee for all vehicles.
🚧 What changes for visiting the mines, the speleological park, and “Il Becco”
To reach the Dossena mines, the speleological park, and “Il Becco,” you can choose between two access methods:
🚗 Access by car (Paid)
You must purchase a daily permit at the parking meter located in the Acquadura area.
Rates:

Cars and motorcycles: €3.00

Campers, caravans, and buses: 10.00
The permit allows transit along the regulated road.
🥾 Access on foot (Free alternative)
Alternatively, it is possible to:

Park for free in the white parking spaces available in the village.

Continue on foot along the road for approximately 2 km (30–40 minutes walk).
This option is recommended during peak periods or for those who wish to enjoy a more immersive experience in the landscape.
⚠️ Checks and Obligations
Please note that checks are active along the route. The transit permit must be:

Purchased before access.

Displayed clearly on the vehicle.
Failure to display the permit will result in penalties as provided by the Highway Code.
